Welcome to the WoodCAST. My name is Max and I am a senior scientist at the Institute of Wood Technology and Renewable Resources at BOKU University in Vienna, Austria. The WoodCAST deals with all things related to wood and natural materials. Together with graduates of BOKU University, I talk about the degree programme and career prospects. Together with leading minds from research and industry, I present current research focuses and hot topics of the world of natural materials. DI Christian Tippelreither vom Holzcluster Steiermark erzählt von den Herausforderungen der heimischen Holzindustrie durch den Ukraine Konflikt. Dabei spricht er nicht nur über betroffene Branchenbereiche sondern auch welche Produkte in Zukunft besonders schwer verfügbar sein werden.
Außerdem gibt er einen Einblick in aktuelle Innovationsthemen des Holzclusters. Weitere Informationen dazu findet ihr hier.
Die humanitäre Katastrophe und die langfristigen sozial- und sicherheitspolitischen Auswirkungen sind bedrückend und verdienen volle Aufmerksamkeit. Da es sich jedoch nicht um den thematischen Fokus des Podcasts, noch um die Expertise des Gastes handelt wurde Fokus auf die Auswirkungen für die heimische und europäische Holzwirtschaft gelegt.
